David Applebaum is a dispensary agent at Las Vegas ReLeaf, working directly with the medical marijuana patients and providing as much expertise and personal experience as possible.
Experience at Las Vegas ReLeaf
David’s care for the patients and passion for the industry make him an excellent dispensary agent for anyone who comes through our doors. He does whatever he can to make the patient feel comfortable and give them the best experience possible. David works so hard for the patient because he knows that the patient validates everything about why he wants to work in the medical marijuana industry. David states, “sometimes you have patients who are really struggling, and you get to see them walk away with a feeling of relief.”
It’s not just the patients that keep David coming back to a job he loves every day. He immediately felt a sense of family with Las Vegas ReLeaf when he joined the team. He enjoyed being surrounded by like-minded individuals who are also passionate about helping others with medical marijuana. He explained the sense of support and teamwork in Las Vegas ReLeaf, something that really allowed his personality to shine through.
Experience with medical marijuana
David’s experience with medical marijuana goes back much further than his time at Las Vegas ReLeaf. He was first diagnosed with colitis in the 7th grade and, with the support of his family, he discovered the benefits of medical marijuana by the 8th grade. After a year of trying various pharmaceutical medications and experiencing negative reactions and side effects, he first discovered how “amazing cannabis was for my condition.”
He explains that this snowballed in a good way because the medical marijuana also helped him deal with the immense amount of social anxiety and stress he was dealing with during that time. Cannabis was not only able to knock out his stomach pain, nausea, and inability to eat, but it also helped him during social situations to feel less socially awkward and ultimately gave his confidence the boost it needed.
Today, recreational weed is legal in Nevada. But David wants to continue to be an advocate for the medicinal value cannabis provides. He wants to continue taking an interest in how medical cannabis can improve different conditions for different people. In fact, he sees the future of the medical marijuana industry to find news ways to isolate cannabinoids and other compounds in marijuana to really hone in on specific medicinal values for different conditions. He sees this future in the form of concentrates, as this is his favorite way to medicate.
Passion for music and marijuana
David spent the majority of his adult life traveling as a touring musician. From Texas to Massachusetts, David joined bands far and wide to rock and roll. He began playing the drums at six years old and studied as a jazz major at UNLV before hitting the road. Today, David enjoys his roots in Las Vegas, helping medical marijuana patients to find the “releaf” they need.
